Wednesday night, I had the privilege of helping moderate the Strafford County Democrats’ 1st Congressional District Forum in Barrington, New Hampshire.
Five of the candidates in the Democratic primary - including Carleigh Beriont, Sarah Chadzynski, Heath Howard, Maura Sullivan, and Christian Urrutia - participated before a crowd of over 200 people, and they did a great job answering questions about everything from the economy, to foreign policy, to health care, the role of AI, housing, and much more.
Following the event, I hosted a Substack Live with each of the candidates, one-on-one, to talk about the event and some of their answers. We also talked about the road ahead for this field, which has a significant diversity of professional and civic experiences. The interviews are generally quick hits: Between five and ten minutes each.
It was a fun time, giving them a chance to speak in a relaxed, live atmosphere, and I think you’ll gain insight about who they are, and what motivates them to run for this critically important congressional seat.
