Part of my day yesterday:

7:49 am: I got a text from a friend of mine in the greater Manchester area. I will withhold the name mentioned in the text for now, but here is what it said:

“Good morning, Steve. [Name redacted] sent me a message requesting your phone number, needing it ‘rather quickly’. Is it OK to share?”

I wrote, “Of course! I am intrigued.”
